A Week of the DNC and the Liberal Agenda
Not that I am not looking forward to watching the polls bounce and hearing the party platform, it's just that I am not A Democrat and know I will get tired of the pomp and circumstance and self-congratulatory atmosphere. Sure you're all the greatest. There will be other things happening, and I know the media will do it's best to ignore it.
As for Ralph and his Reform Party bid, do not worry. No one can vote honestly for Nader if they are truly committed to changing the direction of the nation. If Bush takes the Oath of Office in January, it will be our fault. All of ours. Finger-pointing will not help our situation, it will help King George's. Once we internalize the importance of the regime change at home, we will prevail at the polls this November.
I have become evangelical about my liberal agenda. It includes the homosexual agenda, the eco-terrorist agenda (their label, not mine) and from what I understand about right-wing rhetoric, the pinko-commie bastard agenda. I admit wholeheartedly to supporting, in my heart, these left-wing values.
Even more so, I am evangelical about my conservative agenda. My conservative agenda includes individual and group social and civil liberties, prudence and frugality in government spending, states' rights and individual entrepreneurial protections.
Whatever the homosexual agenda, I honestly do not feel the federal government, nor the state governments, have any right to act in any way other than to protect the rights of individuals. Same goes for abortion: it is not for you or me to say what someone else cannot do. Our rights end where other people's begin. That line begins just outside of our bodies. It is the responsibility of the government to enforce that line, not violate it.
As an acknowledged eco-terrorist sympathizer, I say to you: I do not even know what eco-terrorism means in this context. If you ask me, the oil-pumping, clearcutting, river damning, coal burning, gas guzzling, nuclear waste generating, toxin manufacturing military industrial complex does much more damage to the Earth's ecology than those who would sabotage the desctructo-machine.
A terrorist destroys. The eco-terrorists are the destroyers, which tangentially and directly includes us all. Some much more than others. The groups labeled as eco-terrorists, such as the ELF, Dirt Fist! and the like have yet to target a single human life, or take one. Saboteurs, yes, terrorists, no. Their financial impact has been so negligible, they are hardly worth worrying about. The worry for the machine should be folks like me, folks who think, speak out and vote. We're the true danger to the right-wing, neo-conservative, authoritarian, international corporate domination agenda.
Corpo-terrorists should shake in their Italian leather shoes. Corporate entities have run roughshod over our planet and will soon begin answering for their crimes. Enron was just a drop in the bucket. We look forward to a time of corporate responsibility which extends to the damage done by board decisions. When we begin putting board members behind bars and extending punitive damages to the point where they dismantle the organization, hold executive and board leadership criminally accountable and bar these people from doing business of any sort as untouchable unaccountable entities.
Ah, for the luxury of doing this professionally. I have other topics to post and too little time. I leave you with this thought: real patriots do not try to control us through through hegemonic systems of law.
